Forgiving Medical Debt for People in Cook County
A service project for our Confirmation groups

With the leadership of our current Confirmation group, and the support of our neighbors and friends, Christ Church is continuing to raise funds to eliminate medical debt in Cook County! To date, we have raised more than $20,000!
This will forgive $2,000,000 of medical debt!

How we put our faith into action is at the heart of what our youth is discerning during their journey through Confirmation. They have taken this work very seriously, as they begin their Confirmation project!

In the midst of an ongoing pandemic that continues to re-shape our world, our youth members recognize how important access to medical care is in our country. They also know that access to medical care presents unique financial concerns, especially for those who live at or around the poverty level.

The truth is that we are not able to change the reality of medical debt for everyone – and yet, our youth recognize their call to love and serve our neighbors. So, our 7th and 8th grade youth members have discerned that they want to put their faith into action by working to alleviate medical debt in Cook County, IL by partnering with RIP Medical Debt. 

We had set The ambitious goal of forgiving $2,000,000.00 of debt by Easter!

For every $1 donated, we can forgive at least $100 of medical debt in Cook County.

To accomplish this goal, everyone’s help is needed.  Even small gifts can make a huge difference!
