Christmas Angels

Share your joy by making sure that everyone can celebrate!

Christmas Angels is one of Christ Church’s most meaningful annual traditions – and one of our most effective outreach ministries. Particularly during the holidays, when hope is challenged in extraordinary ways, we can become evidence of God’s Grace by bringing joy into the homes and hearts of hundreds of families all over Chicago.

Christmas Angels 2023 - Invitation to Serve

There are two ways to participate in the Christmas Angels program this year:

  • You can adopt a family in need. We have committed to providing gifts and grocery gift cards for 110 families this year. We have families of 2-8 people available.

  • You can make a cash donation that the committee will use to purchase basic necessities, gifts and personal items for residents of 6 Episcopal ministry partners, isolated and lonely senior citizens, and families in crisis right here in New Trier Township.

There is no more meaningful gift you can give to yourself than the gift of hope for someone in need at Christmas

Who We Serve

Each year, this parish wide effort provides basic necessities, gifts, and groceries during Christmas for:

  • Families in Chicago that struggle with income in their house.

  • Isolated senior citizens living in the greater Chicago area.

  • Residents of ministry partners, like St. Leonard’s House, St. Andrews Court, and Grace House, who are working to rebuild their support systems following parole.

  • Mothers and children living in supportive housing at Primo Center after being unhoused.

  • Local Families, whose children attend our local schools who experience financial instability.

How to Participate

There are many ways to participate in the Christmas Angels Ministry.  There’s a job on our committee for everyone!  Parishioners can:

“Adopt” a family or senior citizen, providing gifts and food gift cards.

Donate money for the committee to use to purchase gifts and food gift cards for residents of our ministry partners or New Trier families.

Help shop for gifts, funded by committee donations.

Donate gifts for the committee to distribute.

Wrap gifts and assemble packages in one of our workshops.

Help deliver gifts to our ministry partners.

Pray throughout the year for the people we serve.

100% of the donations we receive go directly to the people we serve.
