Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is fundamental to our life together at Christ Church. If you are facing illness, a life transition, or challenging circumstances, we want to be present for you. Please reach out to the clergy through the office at (847) 446-2850.

To reach the Reverend Matthew Hanisian please call: 847-446-2850 ext. 133

Our Caring Ministries are an extension of the pastoral care provided by clergy, and you are encouraged to reach out to clergy if you find yourself in any kind of need. To receive help or assistance, please contact a member of the clergy.

Meals

A virtual army of cooks is always on call to provide meals to parishioners who need a hand with the daily demands of running a household during challenging life events. The committee will provide meals for a day, a week, or as long as needed.  To join this Caring Ministry, please connect with our parish administrator.

Rides

This Caring Ministry provides rides for parishioners who cannot drive themselves. If you would like to help provide transportation for parishioners from time to time, or if you have a transportation need, please connect with our parish administrator..

Altar Flower Deliveries

This Caring Ministry is charged with delivering flowers from the altar following Sunday services.  Flowers are delivered as a way to brighten someone’s day, to honor a special event in a parishioner’s life, or to say a special thank you. If you would like to join this Caring Ministry, please connect with our parish administrator.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Trained parishioners visit those who are homebound, or ill, or facing a time of grief or crisis. In addition to providing companionship and support, our Eucharistic Ministers may pray with you, or share communion (from the reserved sacrament) as desired. Lay Eucharistic Ministers serve under the training and leadership of our clergy. For more information, please connect with our parish administrator.

Funeral Reception Committee

The Funeral Reception Committee  provides lovely post-funeral receptions at the Church on the Hill. To join this Caring Ministry, please connect with our parish administrator.

Grief Support Group

We join with Kenilworth Union Church and the Samaritan Counseling Center to provide a confidential, supportive, and educational environment to grieve the loss of a friend or loved one. This group meets from 7:00-8:30 pm at Kenilworth Union Church on the first and third Mondays of each month. The sessions are facilitated by a trained clinician from the Samaritan Counseling Center. Participants are welcome to attend as many or as few sessions as desired at no cost.  For more information, please connect with our parish administrator.
